Genio is a trusted partner of government departments and agencies, European institutions and international foundations. In Ireland, we have successfully worked across some of the most significant and challenging social service fields for over 10 years, including disability, homelessness, mental health, dementia and addiction. We have helped to facilitate change and improvements in services for over 9,000 people directly and in many cases, our programmes are reaching whole populations of need, underpinning national reform programmes. To date, the Irish Government has invested €41m and the Atlantic Philanthropies has invested €27m through Genio to assist in service reform efforts.

Evidence resulting from studies in Ireland illustrate the benefits of person-centred approaches in terms of both quality of life, cost savings and cost avoidance. International studies also demonstrate that personalised services can achieve better outcomes and has potential for cost reduction. The Facing Change exhibition marked 10 years of collaboration and profiled the personal stories of some of the people supported through our work.

Genio also led the rollout of the European Social Catalyst Fund (ESCF). An initiative designed to have significant impact on some of Europe’s most pressing social challenges. It was established and co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, Genio (Ireland), the Robert Bosch Stiftung (Germany) and the King Baudouin Foundation (Belgium) and launched in Brussels in January 2020.
